Robert J. Fairneny, CPA – President
Robert J. Fairneny is a graduate of Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts and a Certified Public Accountant and licensed Private Investigator. Since 1990, he has been providing controlled substance consulting services to various health care institutions on matters pertaining to drug diversion as well as federal and state controlled substance regulatory compliance issues.
His clients include hospitals, clinics, surgical day care centers and ground, rotor and fixed wing air ambulances that provide emergency and critical care transport services. He has spoken nationally on topics pertaining to controlled substance diversion, security, record keeping, prescriptive practice and regulatory compliance matters and has appeared as an expert witness in employee union arbitration hearings.
As President of Controlled Substance Security Consultants, Inc., Mr. Fairneny has conducted various drug and fraud investigations and has worked with client legal counsel, law enforcement and regulatory agencies including the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Massachusetts District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Boston Police Anti-Corruption Unit on client related matters.
Prior to forming Controlled Substance Security Consultants, Inc., Mr. Fairneny was the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of a national manufacturing company.
Mr. Fairneny was employed as a Certified Public Accountant in the Boston office of Price Waterhouse where he had a nine-year career at this international accounting firm and provided auditing, tax and consulting services to publicly and privately held companies and their managers/owners.
